The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Colombian Govt, FARC-EP Resume Dialogue
Havana, Jan 14 (Prensa Latina) Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People´s Army (FARC-EP) resume today the peace talks in this city after a holiday break of 23 days. The parties have returned to the Havana´s International Conference Center, permanent venue of the talks created on November 19, to continue the discussions focused on the issue of land, considered a key factor in this new attempt to end decades of armed conflict.

Cuba on the Verge of Significant Immigration Changes
Havana, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) Just five days before new immigration changes take effect regarding the flow of Cubans to and from the country, local authorities are providing additional information about the immigration updates announced last October. Starting January 14, Cubans will no longer need to apply for an exit permit to travel abroad, nor will they need to present a letter of invitation from hosts abroad. The change is greatly anticipated both within and outside the country.
