The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

China Denounces U.S. Blockade against Cuba
Beijing, Oct 11 (Prensa Latina) The failure of the U.S. blockade policy against Cuba for over 50 years and its intentions to isolate that country were stated in this capital by the island”s ambassador in this capital, Alberto Blanco . During a press conference at the Cuban embassy in Beijing, the diplomat denounced the Washington unilateral and punitive policy that will be submitted for the 21st time at the U.N. General Assembly on November 13.

Chavez Describes Elections as a Perfect Battle
Caracas, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) President Hugo Chavez described today as impeccable, a perfect battle, the polls of October 7 in which he was re-elected for the term 2013-2019. In a press conference at the Ayacucho Hall of Miraflores Palace, Chavez said that day consolidated what he said after casting his vote: “If anyone wants to see a vigorous, honorable and sound democracy, he/she should come to Venezuela.”

Syrian Forces Kill Chechen, Afghan Mercenaries
Damascus, Oct 9 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Arab Army (EAS) killed Czech and Afghan mercenaries during clashes in the Ziraha neighborhood in the town of Qusseir, in Homs province, an official source reported on Tuesday. As part of an offensive executed on Monday against those groups in areas near the border with Lebanon, EAS troops clashed with armed groups operating in the zone in west Homs, 162 kilometers north of Damascus.

Chavez to Head Election Campaign Activities in Aragua, Carabobo
Caracas, Oct 3 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will head a convoy and activities in the states of Carabobo and Aragua on Wednesday, with only one day left before the election campaign comes to an end and four days before the general elections take place. Over 20 Death Reported in Armed Groups Attacks in Syria
Damascus, 30 Sep (Prensa Latina) At least 17 civilians died today in an attack by armed bands against the locality of Al Haidariya, municipality of al-Qseir, in the central Syrian province of Homs, 162 kilometers from this capital. According to a military source the groups attacked that location with mortars and machine guns, in the early morning hours of Sunday. It was also reported the kidnapping of a yet undetermined number of people.

Evo Morales to Fulfill Tight Schedule upon Arrival in Bolivia
La Paz, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) President Evo Morales will return to Bolivia on Thursday, where he will fulfill a tight schedule, including the transference of presidential powers at the Uyuni Airport, in Potosi, where he will arrive in the country. The president will receive the presidential attributes from the speaker of the House of Senators, Gabriela Montaño, to whom he transferred them on Sunday before leaving for Cuba en route to New York, the United States, where he was highly acclaimed at the 67th United Nations General Assembly.
