The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuba to Host International Meeting on History, Art and Medicine
Health curiosities and their links with history and art will be the main topics of the international colloquium Histarmed, which will bring together researchers from some 10 countries in Latin America and Europe, said organizers today. Specialists from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Spain and Italy, as well as the host country Cuba, will participate in Histarmed, organized by the Medical Sciences University of Havana, from March 8th.

Roel Santos: I never give up or tire
Just as happened to Alfredo Despaigne in Santiago de Cuba, Roel Santos was rejected at the provincial sports academy for being “too small,” despite some spectacular fielding in his debut for the school team. Cuban President Raul Castro has decorated three leaders of the 1959 Revolution with the title of “Work Hero of the Republic of Cuba.” The ceremony, held over the weekend in Havana’s Capitol building, home of the National Assembly, commemorated the 123rd anniversary of the beginning of what National Hero José Martí called Cuba’s ‘Necessary War.’
