Bolivia Hosts Congress of Solidarity with Cuba

Condemning the US blockade of Cuba and supporting the campaign to free the Cuban anti-terrorists jailed in the United States are the main goals of the 11th Congress of Bolivia”s Solidarity with Cuba.

As of today, some 250 guests from every Bolivian department, plus 30 counterparts from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, are present in this 48-hour event in La Paz.

Four commissions will concentrate the debates and ready the items the Congress will discuss and approve as resolutions, while outgoing leader of the organization, Doctor Mario Salinas, will present a report on his term.

The commissions will discuss the situation of the Cuban anti-terrorists jailed over 13 years in the United States, fighting the US inhuman and illegal blockade on Cuba, as well as the cooperation of doctors and other Cuban specialists in Bolivia and the action plan, among other topics.

At the closing session on Sunday, they will announce the final resolutions, issue a Declaration of Solidarity with Cuba and elect the movement’s new National Board of Secretaries and choose the next Congress venue.
