The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Unconventional war against Cuba: What are its most recent manifestations?
Unconventional warfare has evolved over time. In a work on strategic intelligence, written in 1948 by Sherman Kent, a professor at Yale University, it would be defined that from then on wars, influenced by the United States, would be unconventional. Other theorists have also referred to this concept, according to Elio Perera Pena, a researcher at the Center for International Policy Research (CIPI). Speaking at the Round Table, the expert pointed out that the United States conceptualized this type of war through the terminology dictionary of the Department of Defense.

Plastic artist Juan Moreira passed away
The outstanding plastic artist Juan Moreira lost the colors of life and began his journey towards Cuban historical memory, when he died today in Havana at the age of 83. News of his death arrived like a bolt of lightning that strikes without warning, reported the Ministry of Culture, while echoing the words of praise spread by the painter and critic Manuel López Oliva. Death does not respect root makers either, it has just taken away one of the Cuban artists who knew how to fulfill -with poetry and generational roots- the human and expressive mission that life assigned him, affirmed López Oliva.

Anti-corruption and food-energy security lead the agenda of the Chinese Communist Party
The fight against corruption and the guarantee of food and energy security are points of the highest priority for the Communist Party (PCCh) of this Asian nation, confirmed representatives of various departments of the aforementioned political organization whose XX National Congress began to meet in plenary from this October 16. United Nations System donates water purification plant for victims of Hurricane Ian in Pinar del Río
As part of the emergency response after the devastating effect of Hurricane Ian in western Cuba and particularly in the province of Pinar del Río, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Office of The Resident Coordinator (OCR) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Cuba joined forces for the acquisition of a Kit Watsan No. 5 water treatment plant. This mobile team will be transferred to Pinar del Río to meet the urgent water and sanitation needs of the population most affected by the passage of Hurricane Ian.

Don Navarro or how to pay tribute to the first master of Cuban rum
José Pablo Navarro Campa said that Cuban rum is not born from a magical combination. It is a cultural heritage that is transmitted “from teacher to teacher, from heart to heart”. Nancy Pelosi claimed to want to “break Trump’s face” during the assault on the Capitol

I want to break his face, and then go to jail happy.” This was expressed by the president of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, on January 6, 2021, when a mob of supporters of Donald Trump stormed the Capitol. The person Pelosi was referring to was Donald Trump. The congresswoman launched those words when an aide informed her that the Secret Service – the police force that protects the US president – had refused to allow Trump to go to Capitol Hill to support his supporters, who were in full coup attempt.

Cuba welcomes the development of the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China
The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, alluded today to the celebration of the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China and conveyed the best wishes for success during the conclave. From his official profile on Twitter, the president assured that the results of that meeting, considered a key event in facing current challenges and designing strategic plans for the next five years in the Asian nation, “will be a new encouragement for progressive forces worldwide.”
