The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

USA: Manning’s Defense Underlines Irregularities of Trial
Washington, Aug 6 (Prensa Latina) The defense of Bradley Manning noted today the sentence of the U.S. soldier must be reduced since he was accused of many crimes for only committing one action that violated federal laws. Snowden Submits Request for Temporary Asylum in Russia, Says Lawyer
Moscow, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) Former U.S. Intelligence agent Edward Snowden has officially requested temporary asylum in Russia, said lawyer Anatoli Kucherena today after meeting with Snowden at the airport in this capital. “He filled the application for temporary asylum with my help because he needs advise in juridical and legislative terms. Due to his condition, I met with him for a consultation,” said the lawyer.

Electoral Irregularities in Several US States
Washington, Nov 6 (PL) U.S. authorities supervising the presidential election today reported problems or irregularities in the voting process nationwide in various states, with more relevance in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. Members of the Election Protection Civic Coalition reported that eight hours after the polls were opened on Tuesday, it had received 35.000 calls of complaints from citizens in all 50 states and the District of Columbia .
