The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Chavez Calls to Unmask Neoliberal Project of the Opposition
Caracas, Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez urged his followers to unmask the opposition project, which seeks to impose neo-liberal economic policies in this country. During a meeting with workers from different areas in the sports center José María Vargas, located in this state, the president said that this is one of the major responsibilities to be assumed by workers and youth, among other sectors.

Some years ago, travelling on the presidential plane of Hugo Chávez of Venezuela with a French friend from Le Monde Diplomatique, we were asked what we thought was happening in Europe. Was there any chance of a move to the left? We replied in the depressed and pessimistic tones typical of the early years of the 21st century. Raul Castro Welcomed Hugo Chavez to Cuba on Saturday
Havana, April 1 (RHC)—Cuban President Raul Castro welcomed Venezuelan head of state Hugo Chavez at Havana´s Jose Marti International Airport Saturday Night. Chavez returned to Havana to continue with his radiotherapy treatment. Upon his arrival at the airport, Hugo Chavez held a brief dialog with Raul Castro. Chavez is being accompanied by foreign minister Nicolas Maduro.

Chavez Returns to Venezuela from Havana
Caracas, Mar 29 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez arrived here on Thursday from Havana, where he traveled on March 24 to receive radiotherapy treatment.The statesman arrived at the Simon Bolivar International Airport of Maiquetia, in Vargas state, at midnight, he explained later at the Miraflores Palace during a video conference with Mario Silva, presenter of the TV program La Hojilla, which started at 01:00 hours, local time, on Friday.
