Havana, April 1 (RHC)—Cuban President Raul Castro welcomed Venezuelan head of state Hugo Chavez at Havana´s Jose Marti International Airport Saturday Night. Chavez returned to Havana to continue with his radiotherapy treatment.
Upon his arrival at the airport, Hugo Chavez held a brief dialog with Raul Castro. Chavez is being accompanied by foreign minister Nicolas Maduro.
Also at the airport was Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
Before departing Venezuela, the Bolivarian president attended a ceremony to provide funds to the Agro-Venezuela social mission at the Miraflores government palace, where he said that “God and Christ willing I will overcome and live; we will live and keep building the new homeland.”
Chavez also said that he will return to Venezuela next Thursday, after concluding the second stage of his treatment, which includes five radiotherapy sessions, Radio Nacional de Venezuela reported.
