The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban Foreign Minister: These are times of solidarity and of understanding health as a right
“We reaffirmed that these are times of solidarity and of understanding health as a right and not a commodity,” Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla posted on his Twitter account, referring to his remarks yesterday, June 3, during a video conference organized by Germany’s Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas with counterparts in Latin America and the Caribbean, to share experiences to better confront the COVID-19 pandemic and discuss how to overcome its consequences together.

In Cuba, COVID-19 is everyone’s business
If one thing has become clear over the 84 days of Cuba’s battle against COVID-19, it has been the need to integrate all efforts to save lives. Today, with Havana as the epicenter, this premise is key and the Cuban government is closely following the situation in the capital, which this Tuesday confirmed nine new cases, for a total of 1,075 since March 11, when the first new coronavirus infection was confirmed.

Every error in the COVID-19 battle is a setback
Cuba awoke yesterday to the news of 38 new cases of COVID -19, the highest number of confirmed cases in the last 28 days, of which 32 are related to the outbreak at the Epoca department store in Havana. A large portion of the meeting led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz was devoted to analysis, with the prevention and control task force, of the causes of this transmission event, which has had major repercussions.

The results of Cuban science are a source of pride
During another encouraging meeting with the group of scientists and experts directly involved in Cuba’s efforts to control the COVID-19 epidemic, President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez noted that the results achieved in different arenas “are a clear indication of the contribution that Cuban science is making to this battle.” He insisted that the accomplishments are evidence of the country’s capacity, to address complex situations with the support of science and innovation.

Cuba condemns terrorism and political manipulation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states its strong rejection of the slanderous inclusion of Cuba in the U.S. State Department list of countries which are allegedly not cooperating fully with U.S. efforts against terrorism that was made public on May 13, 2020 and strongly rejected by President Miguel Díaz-Canel. Stem cells to treat post COVID-19 lung disease in Cuba
Studies conducted in different countries have corroborated that a certain number of patients recovered from COVID-19, mainly those who reached serious condition requiring admission to intensive care units, presenting some type of long-term effect, particularly lung lesions.
