The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Trump hints that he will run for the 2024 presidential elections and calls Nancy Pelosi “crazy”
Former US president Donald Trump hinted that he “probably” will run again in the 2024 presidential election, at the same time that he called Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House of Representatives, “crazy.” “I was nominated twice and I won twice. (…) For our country to be successful, safe and glorious again, I will probably have to do it again, ”said the politician that Saturday at the ‘Save America’ rally held in the city of Robstown, Texas.

Moscow launches the first satellite of its ambitious Sfera project
Russia launched a Soyuz-2.1b rocket with three Gonets-M satellites and the first demonstration satellite of the federal Sfera project, Skif-D, from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur region of the Russian Far East on Saturday.According to Roscosmos, the 3 Gonets-M satellites and the Skif-2 satellite are already in orbit.The space agency Roscosmos specified that this is the first launch of a carrier rocket of the Soyuz-2 group, loaded with a new ecological fuel called naphthyl. It is a hydrocarbon-based fuel with polymer additives that will increase the payload carried into space and reduce harmful emissions.

Trump to appear in court for assault on Capitol Hill
The U.S. House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on Capitol Hill formally issued a subpoena for former President Donald Trump, who lawmakers say “personally orchestrated” a coordinated effort to nullify the results of the 2020 election. Hours earlier, Steve Bannon, a Trump ally, was sentenced to four months in prison for refusing to testify in the committee’s investigation into the insurrection.

Cuban Civil Aeronautics reports on incident with aircraft destined for fumigation work
On Friday, October 21, 2022, an AN-2 type aircraft, identified with flight CNI 400, registration CU A1885, belonging to the National Air Services Company (ENSA), took off from the ENSA Base Economic Unit in Sancti-Spíritus, at 07:00 a.m., bound for the “El Cedro” runway, to carry out agricultural fumigation work. After completing its second application flight, the aircraft, piloted by the captain on board Rubén Martínez Machado, did not return to the runway.

Neruda in Cuba
The month of July 1940 passes and Delia del Carril, wife of Pablo Neruda at the time, writes to the Cuban Juan Marinello to inform him that circumstances have ruined the poet’s plan to pass through Havana, although, he points out, “he has the firm intention of to go”. The couple travels by sea to Mexico, where the poet will assume the position of Consul General of Chile, and once in that position it will be very difficult for him to move to the Cuban capital without a plausible reason.

Clinical use of Combiovent, Cuba’s first high-performance lung ventilator, is authorized
The State Control Center for Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (Cecmed) has authorized the clinical use of Combiovent high-performance ventilation equipment, the first of its kind to be manufactured in the country, developed by the company Combiomed, owned by BioCubaFarma.
