Caracas, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) Solidarity with Cuba finds space today in the Venezuelan Fine Arts through the exhibition Three Great Leaders of America, with works that pay tribute to Simon Bolivar, Cuban national hero Jose Marti, and Commander Hugo Chavez.
The Caracas Museum hosts the exhibition of three dozen works by 23 artists from different states of the country, in an action that is part of the 7th Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, scheduled for July 24 to 27 in the capital.
Lidoska Pirela, director of the institution, said this proposal aims to remember the legacy left by this three figures in the history of the American continent.
Ines Luigi, activist of the movement of Venezuela-Cuba solidarity and mutual friendship, stated that this exhibition is part of the cultural expressions of the people.
Juvenal Torres, artist participating in the exhibition with the works “El poeta” “The Poet” and “El Libertador” (The Liberator), noted that this initiative is also a tribute to remember his legacy through fine arts.
The meeting of solidarity with Cuba will bring together some 350 delegates from 36 countries, in a context marking the 230th anniversary of the
birth of Bolivar (July 24), the 448th anniversary of the founding of Caracas (July 25), and 60th anniversary of the Attack on the Moncada Garrison (July 26).
The closing of the meeting includes a march until the Mountain Barracks, where there will be a vigil to await July 28 and commemorate the 59th anniversary of the birth of Commander Hugo Chavez.
