The search for the remains of Spanish poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca might be resumed in July, depending on economic resources and administrative permits, according to archeologist Javier Navarro. Venezuelan authorities this week denounced several campaigns from Colombia and Spain to criminalize the South American nation. According to National Assembly (Parliament)Speaker Diosdado Cabello, the fair treatment of the Colombians who cross the border to settle here is guaranteed in this country. In that regards, Cabello questioned the statements by Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin, who said that the situation in Venezuela was “difficult”, and urged to hold talks to establish a bi-national commission to analyze the cases of deportation.

AE’s Government Sends Doctors, Field Hospital to Nepal

Government and health authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday confirmed that a field hospital and a medical team had been sent to Nepal to mitigate the needs from the victims of recent earthquakes. The state-run news agency WAM quoted sources saying that the field hospital arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, last Thursday, to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquakes on April 25 and May 11.

Pope Francis, Palestinian President Call for Peace

Venezuelan Socialist Party Braces for Primary Elections

The Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) on Saturday began the assemblies in all 87 electoral districts nationwide until May 24, in the light of the primary elections scheduled for June 28. According to the mayor of Libertador de Caracas municipality and leader of that political organization, Jorge Rodriguez, 1,162 pre-candidates to the National Assembly (Parliament) will commit in those meetings to recognizing the results to be announced by the National Electoral Council (NEC).
