The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban Medical Brigade in Nepal
One month has past since the devastating April 25 earthquake in Nepal, Cities lie in ruin and the number of victims has surpassed 8,600. Anxiety remains fixed on faces, since the country continues to experience aftershocks. On the night of May 12, the same night a severe aftershock hit the nation, 49 members of the Henry Reeve International Contingent Specialized in Disasters and Large Epidemics Brigade No.41 arrived in Katmandu.

Cuba gives go-ahead for 5 more foreign companies to invest in Mariel
Cuba has given the go-ahead for five more foreign companies to set up operations in the Mariel Special Development Zone, or ZEDM, a port and trade complex aimed at luring foreign investment, officials said at an international trade symposium in this capital. “Six companies have been approved (to date), five of them with 100 percent foreign capital,” the director of the ZEDM’s support office, Ana Teresa Igarza, was quoted as saying by Cuba’s official Prensa Latina news agency.

Ballet Produced by Cuban and US Artists to Be Premiered in Havana
The ballet will also be presented at the Marti Theater in Havana. The renowned concert pianist will open the gala by playing the two most famous compositions of the Hail Mary, the version by Charles Gounod and Johann Sebastian Bach, and the one by Franz Schubert, pieces which are usually included in his concerts. “The light in Cuban eyes” portrays real pictures and interweaves the plasticity of dance with the loose Afro-Cuban rhythms.

Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory to Receive Honor Award in Cuba
The Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory today will receive the Honor Award of the most important musical event in the Caribbean country: Cubadisco-2015, during the closing ceremony of this year”s edition The outstanding Russian school of music in which Tchaikovsky himself was a teacher in the nineteenth century, granted scholarships in the second half of the twentieth century to talented Cuban artists.

Syrian Senior Leader to Bring to Cuba Solidarity Message
The deputy general secretary of the Syrian Arab Socialist Baath party, al-Hilal Hilal, assured that he will carry a message of fraternity and solidarity with the Cuban people, in its visit to Cuba on Monday.
The highest party leader will arrive in Havana accompanied by Abdel Nasser al-Chaifa, member of the Regional Command of the Baath party and president of the Syria-Cuba Friendship Association and Mohsen Bilal, former Minister of Information, to meet a busy working schedule.

National Ballet of Cuba Sends Delegation to Festival in Colombia
Relevant figures of the Cuban National Ballet will dance in the IX International Ballet Festival of Cali, Colombia, on June 7-14, the Cuban company announced. In representation of the artistic group, the first dancers Viengsay Valdés and Víctor Estévez will perform at the event a suite from the ballet Carmen, by Alberto Alonso, as well as the pas de deux of the Black Swan, and Don Quixote, two very famous classics from the 19th Century.

UN Secretary-General recognizes Vietnam as Outstanding

Cuba and the US, progress amid differences
Marked by deep differences and more than half a century of estrangement, Cuba and the United States are moving towards the resumption of diplomatic relations and cooperation on issues of common interest. The announcement of the Presidents Raul Castro and Barack Obama, on 17 December, to work according to the bilateral approach opened a new era between the two countries, waiting step to reach the normalization of ties. What we have done in these last four months can be considered an improvement, said to Cuban journalists here the head of the delegation of the island to Havana-Washington talks to restore diplomatic ties, Josefina Vidal.

The Cuban Vice president, Miguel Diaz Canel considered motivating and encouraging his visit to El Salvador for the beatification ceremony today of Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero.
