The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment to visit U.S.
Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex), Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, will make a working visit to the U.S., February 15-18, leading a delegation of representatives from Mincex, the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Central Bank of Cuba, the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and directors of national entities, according to the Cubaminrex website.

Cuban First Vice President Meets Palestinian Foreign Minister
Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel met on Saturday with Riad al-Malki, foreign minister of the Palestinian National Authority, who is on an official visit to the island. According to a report from the national television, during the fraternal meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their willingness to continue working on strengthening bilateral relations, and discussed other issues on the international agenda.

Irregular Cuban Migrants Could Travel to Mexico from Panama
The governments of Mexico and Panama have agreed on a solution to facilitate the transit of irregular Cuba immigrant who are in the country, in a bilateral meeting between the nations presidents, the Foreign Ministry announced today. Presidents Juan Carlos Varela and Enrique Peña Nieto met last January 27th on the sidelines of the 4th Summit of the Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held in Quito, Ecuador.

Cuban Publishing House with 20 Titles in International Book Fair
A catalog of 20 titles will be presented by Ediciones Matanzas in the 25th International Book Fair, which will begin in Havana on February 11.
Jacqueline Mendez, promoter of that publishing house, said to Prensa Latina that the new works include essays, fiction, poetry and literature for children and young people.
