The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Lula will be free, truth and justice will triumph
Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, from the prison where he is held, addressed members of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH), affiliated with the country’s Ministry of Women, Family, and Human Rights. The hearing began September 17, at 10:00 am local time, at Federal Police headquarters in Curitiba, capital of the southern state of Paraná, where the former labor leader has been imprisoned since April 7, 2018.

Cuban foreign minister optimistic on future of U.S. – Cuba relations
Cuba’s foreign minister said Tuesday that he believes improvements in relations with the United States are irreversible despite the Trump administration’s hardening of the embargo on the island.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla told The Associated Press that while the U.S. administration has cut off most communication with Cuba and is trying to pressure the communist government by restricting the flow of oil, progress made under former U.S. President Barack Obama has not been undone.

Díaz-Canel receives King of Eswatini
The President of Cuba´s Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, yesterday received the King of Eswatini, His Majesty Mswati III, on an official visit to our country. During the cordial meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed the positive state of bilateral relations, based on ties of friendship and collaboration, and expressed their willingness to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation. Raúl receives highest state distinction granted by China to friends in other nations
Chinese President Xi Jinping, on September 29, presented his country’s Friendship Medal awarded to the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz. Miguel Ángel Ramírez, Cuban ambassador to that nation, received the distinction, according to Cubaminrex, in a ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People, where 41 Chinese and international figures were also recognized.

Threats and coercion will not extract a single concession from Cuba
