The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Council of Ministers addresses key national issues
Led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the Council of Ministers met March 29, with the participation of Party and government leaders in all provinces and municipalities via video-conference. Issues on the agenda for the government’s highest leadership body included land use, foreign trade and investment, internal accounting, and the Cuban economy’s performance through February.

Díaz-Canel leads working meeting with Government Councils and central state enterprise management
Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, led a working meeting yesterday with government authorities and central state enterprise management. Analysis of projections for the economy over the rest of the year and directives to guide 2019 planning were addressed during the meeting, also attended by José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Party.

A successful summer, but with room for improvement
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez recognized the work done by provincial governments, institutions, and Central State Administration to offer the population a varied recreational program this summer, noting the higher levels of satisfaction expressed by citizens, as compared to previous years, while noting the persistence of some problems.

A day for the homeland
Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers began a government visit to the province of Granma, yesterday June 27. During his stop at La Demajagua National Park, where Cuba’s independence struggle was launched, he observed a moment of silence, and speaking with staff emphasized the importance of caring for the historic site.
