The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Inclusive Nature of Venezuelan Government Stressed
Venezuela on Sunday provided the world lessons about inclusive government, according to participants in the international congress “Inventing Democracy of the 21st Century: Human Rights, Culture, Living Well.” In the framework of the event, which took place in this capital, the Venezuelan vice president of planning and knowledge, Ricardo Menendez, stated that the debate was very fruitful to continue developing strategies that involve the majorities.

Cuban Civil Society Gathers Online to Discuss Human Rights
Havana, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the Cuban civil society are carrying out an online debate today about human rights on the island, in which its organizers expect participation of various Internet users from different parts of the world. The forum will open with the introduction of four panelists from the Cuban Women’s Federation, the National Union of Lawyers, the National Union of Writers and Artists, and the National Council of Churches.

Cuba Presents Report to Human Rights Council
Havana, Apr 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuba’s Foreign Ministry officially presented today the Report to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the Human Rights Council, scheduled to take place on May 1 in Geneva, Switzerland. The document focuses on the recommendations accepted by Cuba in February 2009, when the first UPR cycle was presented, disclosed sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, body responsible for drawing up the text.
