The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Havana is once again the capital of health: Cuba Salud 2022 began
After the well-deserved tribute to health and science professionals, whose efforts and commitment to life allowed Cuba to successfully overcome the covid-19 pandemic; the master conference “The government management system based on science and innovation and its implications for health”, given by Dr. C. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, inaugurated this afternoon the largest event organized by Cuban public health: the Cuba-Health International Convention 2022.

Opens its doors XV Health for All Trade Fair and I International Fair of Medical Tourism and Well-being

Trip to La Castellana, work of love, trust and hope
“Dad…”, the young man said, from his seat in the craft workshop, to the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. When the president left, sounds of intense and crystalline emotion were heard behind him, of a boy happy for the meeting. It did not happen anywhere on the island, but in one where love is the one who will always have the last word: the La Castellana Psychopedagogical Medical Center, located in the capital’s municipality of Arroyo Naranjo.

Cuba prioritizes its epidemiological situation
Cuba as a whole has been working for a little over a week to erase the traces left by Hurricane Ian in various provinces of the country. Enormous efforts have demanded that purpose on the part of the Cuban Government and its leaders, which has not prevented continuing to give priority to the epidemiological scenario of the nation. Cuban biopharmaceutical industry will receive credit of 46.7 million euros
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Cuba will process a financing of 46.7 million euros with the aim of strengthening the country’s biopharmaceutical industry, the entity reported this Friday in a statement. The loan, signed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), is intended for a project to improve the national response capacity against diseases such as Covid-19.The execution of the budget contemplates the reinforcement of the infrastructure for the production of injectable antibiotics, parenteral solutions.

Epidemiological situation continues to be marked by dengue
Dengue continues to be the most complex hygienic-sanitary situation that we have today in the country, it was reiterated at this Wednesday’s meeting of the Government’s temporary working group for the prevention and control of covid-19. The exchange was led by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the prime minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, a member of the Political Bureau. The head of the Ministry of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, reported that there is dengue transmission in the 15 provinces and the Isle of Youth.

Cola.CU (I): A bet against hoarders and resellers
Since September 1, 2020, the Cola.CU application has been operating in the capital, aimed at strengthening order in the stores of the Caribe and Cimex chains. The automated system records purchase history and makes it possible to identify the frequency with which people visit these facilities, as well as the products they purchase. The idea -which arose in the midst of covid-19- was promoted by the Union of Informatics of Cuba and developed by the Eureka Scientific Group of the “José Antonio Echeverría” Technological University of Havana (Cujae), led by Professor Joaquín Pina Amargos.

MINSAP reports on the second case of Monkeypox in the country
Informamos a nuestra población que hoy se confirmó el segundo caso de Viruela Símica diagnosticado en el territorio nacional, el cual no guarda relación con el caso anterior. Se trata de un ciudadano cubano, residente en Estados Unidos, de 60 años de edad, masculino, que arriba a Cuba el día 26 de agosto de 2022 por el aeropuerto internacional José Martí de La Habana, procedente de Miami, Estados Unidos. Durante el Control Sanitario Internacional en frontera no declaró problema de salud.

Cuba reports 70 new cases of COVID-19 and 58 discharges
At the close of this Saturday, August 27, Cuba reported 70 new cases of COVID-19, no deaths and 58 medical discharges. Currently, there are 245 active cases in the country, the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported this Sunday in its daily part. At the end of Saturday, 405 patients were admitted: 160 suspects and 245 confirmed (active cases), of which 244 maintain a stable clinical evolution 2,309 samples were processed, of which 70 were positive. The country accumulates 14,092,790 samples analyzed.
