The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

U.S. organization supports Cuba’s struggles
In defiance of the U.S. government’s attempts to spread fear and discredit Cuba’s reputation as a safe country, members of the U.S. Non-governmental organization CODEPINK, visited the Caribbean island to show their opposition to the White House’s hostile policy. The ninth period of ordinary sessions of the National Assembly’s Eight Legislature is taking place today in Havana’s International Convention Center. Discussion of the proposed Terrestrial Waters Act; analysis of progress made on the National Economic Plan during the first half of the year; a review of state plans to confront climate change; and approval of the close-out report on the 2016 budget
