The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. British MP nominate Cuban doctors for Nobel Peace Prize
I am very, very happy and proud to have officially nominated Cuban doctors, nurses and technicians for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of their work and the humanitarianism they have shown in the fight against the coronavirus, and in emergency health situations around the world for the past 15 years, Burgon said on a video posted by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC).

Cuban parliament begins debates prior to ordinary session
The discussion of two bills and the analysis of vital issues such as the economy and budget mark the opening on Monday of the debates prior to the ordinary session of the Cuban Parliament. Lawmakers will continue analyzing virtually the legislative proposals on the organization and functioning of the provincial governments and the municipal administration councils, which will be submitted for approval on December 17 during the sixth ordinary period of the 9th Legislature.

Cuba to participate in Ministerial Meeting
Cuba will participate in the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers from the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, to be held virtually on Dec.24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island reported today. In the meeting, the Cuban delegation together with the rest of the delegations will hold talks on the need of a joint response to Covid-19, as well as the use of new information and communication technologies, in that context.

Cuban science focuses on food security and sustainable development
The Center for Environmental Research (CIMAC) in Camagüey province is promoting projects that respond to the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development approved by the United Nations, and which seeks food security. “With an integrated view with the academia, our scientific work has as a premise the environmental management as a support to the sustainable advance of tourism, food production and other economic-social spheres,’ stated the director of the institution, Nereyda Junco.

Cuba for international cooperation on climate change

Cuba will take action against inflation
Cuba will take measures from January 1 to curb an expected inflation derived from the monetary reordering, a process that today draws the attention of Cubans. With the arrival of the new year, the convertible Cuban peso (CUC) will disappear and only the regular Cuban peso (CUP) will be used for all operations, with an exchange rate of 24 to 1 against the dollar.
