President Correa thanks Cuba for medical cooperation

This past September, during the inauguration of an ambulatory clinic at Guayaquil’s Abel G. Pontón Hospital, President Rafael Correa reported that during his administration medical services have been doubled, with doctor visits increasing from 16 to 36 million, thanks to the Citizens Revolution and Cuban cooperation.
According to Cubaminrex website, Cuba’s collaboration began in 2012 with 75 medial professionals in Ecuador, a figure which has now reached 816, as a result of 11 agreements, nine with the country’s Ministry of Public Health and two with its Social Security Institute.

The group formed by young university students rose to fame mainly due to its strong spiritual and creative convictions, in defense of jazz and gospel music, with its range expanding to include various African-American genres.

Colombia is advancing along the path to peace

Timoleón Jiménez: The agreement will be conducive to advancing the agenda


The Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP), Timoleón Jiménez, expressed his great satisfaction with the signing of an agreement regarding the creation of a Special Jurisdiction for Peace, in Havana on September 23.
He said that the step would generate an environment conducive to advancing with regards to the outstanding items on the peace talks’ agenda.
