The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Political Bureau discusses issues to be addressed during 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba
Chaired by its first secretary, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee met yesterday to address issues that will be presented for analysis at the upcoming 8th Congress of the organization. On this occasion, analyzed was the document entitled “Assessment of policies regarding Party cadres, the Young Communists League, mass organizations, the state and government. Role of the Party to achieve superior results.”

The emergence of Soberana 1 is not a chance event

BioCen develops secure medium to transport viral samples, a first in Cuba
Researchers at the National Biopreparations Center (BioCen) have developed Cuba’s first secure medium to transport viruses, created for use in the collection and transfer of patients’ nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal samples for the diagnosis of SARS-COV-2, the COVID-19 causal agent. BioCen achieved and industrially scaled the product in only seven days and, subsequently received its Sanitary Registration from the State Center for the Control of Drugs, Equipment and Medical Devices (Cecmed).

Our socialism rejects shock therapies

Cuba’s prestige buries U.S. maneuvers in World Health Organization
Our country’s election to the PAHO Executive Committee, along with Surinam and Brazil, was supported by all member states, except the United States, reflecting respect for Cuban Public Health and the failure of desperate imperialist maneuvers. Neither the United States’ defamatory campaign to discredit and obstruct Cuban medical cooperation, nor its financial extortion of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) could prevent Cuba from being elected to the Executive Committee of the regional body for a three-year term.

Medical brigade that worked in Dominica returns to Cuba
The Cuban medical brigade that served in the Commonwealth of Dominica in the confrontation with Covid-19 will return to Cuba this Sunday, after six months of solidarity work in that neighboring country. The group made up of 35 health specialists from the internationalist Henry Reeve contingent treated 4,627 patients, saved 52 lives and carried out 23,997 nursing procedures.

Trump puts his security forces at risk and leaves the hospital to greet followers
President Donald Trump wanted to show on Sunday that he is recovering from Covid-19 by briefly showing himself to his followers, an exit too risky for the other occupants of the vehicle, according to medical experts, a day before the possible return of the president to the House White. Surprisingly, a caravan of black vehicles emerged outside the Walter Reed Hospital and from one of the Trump cars, wearing a mask, greeted his supporters gathered outside that establishment on the outskirts of Washington.

Latin American Dentistry Day: Working for a healthy smile
Every October 3, the Day of Latin American Dentistry is celebrated, in memory of the creation of the Latin American Dental Federation (FOLA), on October 3, 1917. In Cuba, Dr. Antonio Recasens Garrido, orthodontist, pediatric dentist, health practitioner and President of the Cuban Dental Society, named after the Library of the Faculty of Stomatology of Havana, was the main promoter of this idea and thus on October 3, 1929, he institutionalized this commemoration in our country.
