Raúl receives U.S. Congressional delegation

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday afternoon received a delegation from the United States Congress, led by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont). The group also included two other Democratic Senators, Ron Wyden from Oregon and Gary Peters from Michigan, and House Representatives James McGovern (D-Massachusetts) and Susan Davis (D-California).

Provincial meetings to study Party Congress documents begin today

Meetings to study documents which will be submitted to the Communist Party of Cuba 7th Congress for consideration and approval begin today in all of the country’s provinces. The bulk of those in attendance will be delegates elected this past month to participate in the Party’s most important event, scheduled to take place in Havana, April 16-18.

Cuban Small Farmers Consider Positive Agricultural Cooperative

The 11th Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) assessed as positive the economic activity the cooperatives are developing, and called for a more comprehensive use of bank credit and insurance. ANAP President Rafael Santiesteban said during the final session of the event closed this weekend that the working commission carried out an extensive debate.
