The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Pakistan Confirms Bin Laden´s Death, Taliban Vows Revenge
The Pakistani government on Monday confirmed the death of Osama Bin Laden, leader of the Al Qaeda network, in an operation by U.S. soldiers less than 100 kilometers from the capital. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that the operation in Abbottabad, about 60 kilometers from Islamabad, was in line with the express U.S. policy of the elimination of Bin Laden by U.S. forces wherever he was found.

Raul Castro Presided Over May Day Parade in Santiago de Cuba
Cuban President Raul Castro attended the May Day parade in eastern Santiago de Cuba city, according to a live report of the Cuban television. Raul was accompanied by Santiago de Cuba’s Communist Party First Secretary Lazaro Exposito, and other leaders of grassroots organizations. In the Mariana Grajales square’s grandstand there were several Labor Heroes, union leaders and founders of the Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC) along with members of foreign delegations.

Gaddafi’s son killed in NATO attack
Moussa Ibrahim says three of Moamar Gaddafi’s grandsons were also killed but the leader himself was unharmed. “The house of Saif al-Arab Gaddafi … who is the youngest of the leader’s children, was attacked tonight with full power,” he said. “The leader with his wife was there in the house with other friends and relatives.” Saif al-Arab was a civilian and a student who had studied in Germany.
