The First Vice President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers reiterated, yesterday May 25, the country’s willingness to continue collaborating with Bolivia in various efforts fundamental to the process of change underway in this sister country.
In a conversation with PL, Díaz-Canel said that the official visit by the Cuban delegation will serve to confirm opportunities for cooperation, with a view toward broadening ties in the economic-commercial arena.
“We can see the advances made by the Plurinational State of Bolivia, led by President Evo Morales and the Movement for Socialism (MAS),” he commented. He noted that the visit takes on special significance since 2017 is the 50th anniversary of the death in combat of Che Guevara, “who left an important legacy for the peoples of Latin America.”
Díaz-Canel will complete a four-day official visit in Bolivia, during which he will pay tribute to Che in the museum erected in heroic guerilla’s name in Vallegrande, in the department of Santa Cruz, and tour the historic site, Tiwanaku, an archeological treasure located near La Paz, which was the center of an ancient civilization of the same name. Today in La Paz, the delegation will hold interviews with high level authorities and meet legislators, among other activities.
