Army General, Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, received on the afternoon of September 30, His Excellency José Mário Vaz, President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau, making an official visit to the island.
In a cordial atmosphere, the leaders discussed the fraternal relations between both countries and ratified the willingness of both their governments to strengthen the historic ties of cooperation and friendship which unite the two countries. They also addressed other issues of interest on the international agenda.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by the honorable Soares Sambú, minister of Foreign Relations, International Cooperation and Communities; Abel Cohelo de Mendonça, Guinea Bissau’s ambassador to Cuba; and Gilda Lobo de Pina, chief cabinet secretary.
Participating on the Cuban wide were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; and Rogelio Sierra Díaz, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs.
