Pablo Milanés wins Latin Grammy Award

Pablo MilanesThe singer-songwriter and composer Pablo Milanés, founder of the New Trova movement along with Silvio Ro dríguez and Noel Nicola, received yesterday, November 18, a Latin Grammy Awardfor Musical Excellence, given his important contributions to music.

During the ceremony, held Wednesday 18, in Las Vegas, the United States, the legendary Cuban trova musician, author of 40 albums and memorable songs such as “Yolanda” and “El Bre ve espacio en que no estás,” received the accolade along with other outstanding musicians from the Latin American scene: Spaniards Ana Belén and Víctor Ma nuel, El Gran Combo from Puerto Rico, Ángela Carrasco from the Dominican Republic, Brazilian Djavan, Argentine saxophonist Gato Bar bie ri, Chilean producer Hum berto Ga tica, and Venezuelan composer Che lique Sa rabi.
