The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Partial analogue television blackout in Cuba will begin in July
The gradual transition from analogue to digital television broadcasting will begin in the Isla de la Juventud special municipality and five municipalities of Sancti Spíritus: La Sierpe, Jatibonico, Taguasco, Cabaiguán and the provincial capital. According to the schedule for the gradual transition from analogue to digital television (DTV) broadcasting in Cuba, the so-called “partial blackout” will begin it in July 2018.

Havana is home to the most African embassies in Latin America
Despite the geographical distance and economic limitations, regionally Cuba is home to the most African embassies, a continent with which it shares many historic and cultural ties. With the opening of the Kenyan Embassy in the Cuban capital, set to take place this Friday March 16, there will now be 22 nations from Sub-Saharan Africa with diplomatic missions in the country.

Over 80 Countries to Attend Health Conference and Fair in Cuba
Experts from 83 countries will participate in the International Conference Cuba Salud 2018, to be held from April 23rd to 27th at the Havana”s Conference Center, said organizers today. The event, which will also be attended by 44 ministers of this field, is outlined as a forum for scientific discussion to exhibit progress and challenges in issues such as quality of care, international cooperation, medical training and comprehensive health care.

Cuba Demands at UN-Geneva the End of US Blockade
Cuba”s ambassador at UN headquarters in Geneva, Pedro Luis Pedroso, demanded in this Swiss city the cessation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, diplomatic sources informed today. During the 37th regular session of the Human Rights Council, the diplomat also demanded the return of the territory illegally occupied by the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo province, according to a statement.

Export, a Priority for Essential Cuban Mining Project
