The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Cuban industry to assemble nearly two thousand wheelchairs
The Cuban iron and steel industry will assemble almost two thousand wheelchairs this year, for the public health system and to meet the needs of people with disabilities.This important work forms part of the import-substitution projects conducted annually by the Ministry of Industry, in accordance with guideline no. 87 of the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution.

Our Party was born during the historic days of Girón

Vilma Espín, a role model for Cuban women
Vilma Espín Guillois, born in Santiago de Cuba 86 years ago, on April 7, 1930, was characterized by her human qualities, including strong family principles, a sense of justice and condemnation of lies, banality and superficiality (1). Despite her comfortable background, she rejected the social situation she witnessed in Cuba, wondering, “Why are there beggars on the street?” and questioning as to how to solve the problem (2).
