The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Socialist Candidates Favored in Venezuelan Election Polling
Caracas, Mar 20 (Prensa Latina) With just three weeks to go before the Venezuelan presidential elections, the first polling surveys show an advantage for the socialists and their allies against the opposition bloc. Two surveys released here coincide in an advantage of more than 10 points for Nicolas Maduro, who is the Republics current acting president and candidate for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and its revolutionary allies.

Nicolas Maduro to Take Oath as Acting President of Venezuela
Caracas, Mar 8 (Prensa Latina) Only few hours after the conclusion of the State funeral services of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, Executive Vice President Nicolas Maduro will be sworn in as an acting president of the South American country.
