The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Social Movements Back Regional Integration
Quito, Jul 29 (Prensa Latina) Social Movements Summit supports Latin American integration based on solidarity and complementarity, that is why today’s debate generates proposals from that perspective. The organizations contribute with ideas, during these two days of exchanges of views, which serve as a prelude to the 12 Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), told Prensa Latina, Ernesto Freire, head of the Department of International Relations of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba.

Solidarity with Cuba in Venezuelan Fine Arts
Caracas, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) Solidarity with Cuba finds space today in the Venezuelan Fine Arts through the exhibition Three Great Leaders of America, with works that pay tribute to Simon Bolivar, Cuban national hero Jose Marti, and Commander Hugo Chavez.
The Caracas Museum hosts the exhibition of three dozen works by 23 artists from different states of the country, in an action that is part of the 7th Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, scheduled for July 24 to 27 in the capital.

Serbians Demand Release of Cuban Antiterrorists
Belgrade, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) More than 100 Serbians demanded the release of the Cuban antiterrorist fighters unjustly held in the United States, during a ceremony in the city of Pirot, southeast of the country, diplomatic sources informed. Pope Francis Creates Commission to Restructure Vatican’s Economy
Rome, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) The Vatican announced today the creation of a papal commission that will be in charge of restructuring the economy and the administration of the Vatican, by order of Pope Francis. The commission aims at “simplifying and rationalizing current structures and achieve a more thorough planning of the economic activities of all of the Vatican’s administrations”, noted a communiqué issued by the press office.

Syria Holds Israel Responsible for Fires in Occupied Golan
Damascus, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) Syrian authorities accused Israel today of continuing with the policy of causing premeditated fires in the Golan Heights zone, a territory illegally occupied by Israel since 1967. Zayed al-Tahan, member of the Quneitra Government Executive Office, in southern Syria, told local reporters that Israeli occupation authorities started a big fire on Monday afternoon which spread up to the outskirts of Hamidieh and al-Hurrieh, in the Golan area which remains under the Syrian sovereignty.

Snowden Submits Request for Temporary Asylum in Russia, Says Lawyer
Moscow, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) Former U.S. Intelligence agent Edward Snowden has officially requested temporary asylum in Russia, said lawyer Anatoli Kucherena today after meeting with Snowden at the airport in this capital. “He filled the application for temporary asylum with my help because he needs advise in juridical and legislative terms. Due to his condition, I met with him for a consultation,” said the lawyer.

Evo Morales: Cancel Flight Permit Seeks to Silence Social Struggles
La Paz, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales today considered that the cancellation of the fight permit to his airplane by various European countries constitutes a pretext to silence the socialist governments social struggles.
