Young Cubans call for the return of the territory illegally occupied by the U.S. in Guantánamo

Young Cuban artists participating in the Jornada de la Canción Política (Festival of Political Song) once again called for the return of our territory, occupied by the U.S. at the illegal Guantanamo Naval Base.
During a tour of the communities of Caimanera and Boquerón, bordering the military enclave, participants performed and exchanged with residents, while stating their position calling for the return of this portion of Cuban soil which for more than a century has been occupied by the United States.

World Youth Rights Defended in Cuba

Havana, Aug 8 (Prensa Latina) Cuban student organizations defended the world youth´s right to be protected and take part in government decision-making. On occasion of World Youth Day on Aug. 12, the member of the National Committe of the Young Communist League of Cuba (UJC), Osnay Miguel Colina, said Aug. 12 will be a day of struggle against inequality, unemployment and to secure the future of new generations.

World Youth Study Medicine in Cuba

More than 20,000 youth from Latin American, African and Oceania countries are currently training in the Medical Sciences universities of all Cuban provinces. The 2011-2012 school year officially began on Monday at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), located at the outskirts of Havana, with an enrollment of about 2,300 foreign students. This is the 12th academic year of this institution, founded in 1999 by an initiative by the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro. Previously, the center graduated about 10,000 physicians.
