Thousands of Cubans took to the streets Saturday to defend our right to peace and sovereignty, to say no to the blockade, interference and hatred. In all of the country’s provinces the people came out in defense of their Revolution and in support of our revolutionary project being constructed for the good of all. – In Havana, alongside the people, was Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution; the Party First Secretary and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Cuban President Diaz-Canel sends message of unity

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Sunday called for the people’s unity in the face of destabilization attempts, and ratified the commitment to move forward despite adversity. On his official Twitter account, the president recalled a phrase from National Hero Jose Marti: ‘Men go on two sides: those who love and found, and those who hate and undo,’ and assured that Cuba ‘will continue founding.’ In another tweet, Diaz-Canel pointed out that when the people have come so far in the realization of their dreams, they cannot be stopped by violence or hatred.

Cuba condemns interference in Russia’s internal affairs

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Monday condemned Western countries’ interference in Russia’s internal affairs and reaffirmed his solidarity with Russian authorities. Russia denounced the provocation orchestrated by the West, particularly the United States, after supporting protests organized by followers of opposition blogger Alexei Navalni, prosecuted in two court cases, in several cities of the country.

Cubans to sign petition demanding an end to brutal U.S. aggression against Venezuela

Beginning today, through September 13, signatures will be collected in workplaces and schools in Havana, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Matanzas and Pinar del Río, in solidarity with Venezuela, the Chavista Bolivarian Revolution, the civic-military union of the country’s people, and their legitimate president Nicolás Maduro Moros.
