The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Serious escalation in the Middle East condemned
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla strongly condemned the U.S. bombing Friday in areas near Baghdad airport and the use of missiles for targeted assassinations.
For their part, the heads of Russia and China’s diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov and Wang Yi, respectively, rejected the U.S. attacks in Iraq, and declared their support for efforts to reduce tensions in the region. In a statement published by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, Venezuela expressed its firm condemnation, stating, “This is an action that clearly raises tensions in the region, without any basis in international law.”

Cuba rejects threatening U.S. sanctions on FAR Minister
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez today rejected the impractical and threatening measures imposed by the United States. “I strongly reject the decision of the State Department to prohibit the entry of the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (FAR) to the United States, a measure without any practical effect, threatening and slanderous. I reiterate our invariable solidarity with Venezuela,” Rodríguez wrote in his Twitter account.
