The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

New electricity tariff in Cuba will protect vulnerable families
The new electricity tariff to be implemented in Cuba next January 1 as part of the monetary regulation process, will protect vulnerable families, a government practice in force on the island. Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Alejandro Gil explained that the increase in prices will occur in the energy sector as well as in other areas, as a result of the elimination of the monetary and exchange duality planned for next year.

Cuban parliament begins debates prior to ordinary session
The discussion of two bills and the analysis of vital issues such as the economy and budget mark the opening on Monday of the debates prior to the ordinary session of the Cuban Parliament. Cuba to participate in Ministerial Meeting
Cuba will participate in the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers from the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, to be held virtually on Dec.24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island reported today. Cuban science focuses on food security and sustainable development
The Center for Environmental Research (CIMAC) in Camagüey province is promoting projects that respond to the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development approved by the United Nations, and which seeks food security. “With an integrated view with the academia, our scientific work has as a premise the environmental management as a support to the sustainable advance of tourism, food production and other economic-social spheres,’ stated the director of the institution, Nereyda Junco.
