The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

Continuam diálogos de paz na Colômbia enfocados no tema agrário
Havana, Feb 20 (Prensa Latina) The talks between the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP) and the government of that country continue today in the capital, after a new call for the guerrillas to cease bilateral hostilities. At the Havana’s Conference Center, permanent venue of the conversations, the parties come to this third day of talks of this fifth cycle, while the issue of truce comes to light again not only in Havana but also in Colombia, where the armed conflict has already intensified in several areas of the country for more than 50 years.

New Irregularities at Illegal Guantanamo Prison Denounced

Fidel Castro Warns on the Danger of War for the Human Race
Havana, Feb 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Revolution Leader, Fidel Castro, considers Homo Sapiens did not evolve enough to prevent a war that endangers its own species, stated in an interview published today in Granma newspaper. Cuba: International Education Congress Opens
Havana, Feb 4 (Prensa Latina) The International Congress “Pedagogia 2013″ begins activities today with a master lecture by Cuban Education Minister Ena Elsa Velazquez, and a cultural event with about 500 students from art schools. The scientific event, to be run until February 8, is one of the largest one of its kind in the country, and it expects the attendance of about 3,000 people from some 32 countries, authorities from the Ministry of Education (MINED) said at a news conference.

Massive Turnout at The Polls in Cuba
Havana, Feb 3 (Prensa Latina) Despite a cold and persistent rain Cubans went out to vote early in the morning in the general elections that will define the makeup of the National People”s Power Assembly (Parliament). Prensa Latina news agency verified the opening of several electoral colleges, where there were long lines of people that wanted to be the first to cast their vote at 07:00, local time (12:00 GMT).

Cuba Receives the Pro Tempore Presidency of CELAC
