The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

An end to the blockade demanded in all languages
Our people welcome this solidarity in our long battle to resist. Party First Secretary and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, repeated this again on Twitter, posting: “Thanks to all those who put aside their Sunday rest and came out into the streets, in both sunny and cold distant cities, to build bridges of love and demand in all languages the end of a crime that has lasted too long.”

Nachito Herrera, homeland and music
The pianist combines traditional Cuban styles, especially the rhythms of montunos and tumbaos, with jazz and classical music. Ignacio Herrera, Nachito, is a man of bridges, linking the music of Cuba, his native country, and the United States, where he resides. But he is clear about his origins. Cuba grateful for intellectuals’ position denouncing the blockade
Party First Secretary and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel tweeted his thanks to the In Defense of Humanity Network for its message demanding an end to the U.S. blockade of Cuba. “Thanks to intellectuals of the entire world who add prestige with their signatures to our long, determined struggle against the blockade. Blockade disrupts production of medicine for Cuba’s national health system
The U.S. government’s financial persecution of Cuba, added to the economic, commercial and financial blockade, limits the industry’s operations and development. Directors of Cuba’s Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries Enterprise Group (BioCubaFarma) denounced the impact on their research and production of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed on Cuba by the U.S. government.

No crime lasts a hundred years
A second global caravan against the U.S. blockade of Cuba took place in more than 50 cities around the world this weekend. Twitter’s news feed did not stop. Facebook played live videos, one after another. Before the restless eyes of those following everything related to Cuba posted on social networks, this Saturday and Sunday, it was impossible not to notice that something was afoot.

New US Government and old blockade against Cuba
President Joe Biden is taking his first steps in office, while Cuba is still under the harmful effects of a long-standing blockade. It is stated in a report that Cuba will submit in May to the United Nations General Assembly about the impact of the economic, financial and commercial blockade in force over the last six decades. It will be another exercise at the General Assembly against a practice that has been rejected repeatedly by the international community.

The blockade of Cuba does not express the will of the U.S. people
Evidence abounds that the hostile blockade policy imposed by the U.S. government on Cuba, almost immediately after the triumph of the Revolution, does not reflect the sentiment or will of the majority of the population in that country. This was has been confirmed by local authorities in almost twenty U.S. cities. The most recent call for the normalization of relations between the two nations took place when the Chicago City Council voted unanimously to approve a resolution calling on the U.S. government to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade on Cuba.

More than 50 organizations urge Biden to end hostile Cuba policy
A letter from more than 50 U.S. social, religious and academic organizations has urged the administration of President Joseph Biden to fulfill his campaign promise and “reverse the failed Trump policies that inflicted harm on Cubans and their families.” The text advocates the initiation of a more constructive U.S. policy toward the island nation and the launching of legislative action to put an end to restrictions and take the path toward ending the blockade.

Millions for democracy made in USA
Although the effort has never produced the results expected by its organizers, subversion against Cuba continues to be a profitable business involving millions of dollars. Disguised in multiple trappings, through agencies, companies and organizations, which rarely offer public information on the management of their funds, the financing of actions intended to undermine the Revolution have exceeded 249.5 million dollars, over the last two decades.
