The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

President Obama in Havana’s Plaza de Armas
As part of his tour of Havana’s central historic district, Obama and his family visited the Plaza de Armas, one of the first squares built in the Spanish villa of San Cristóbal de La Habana. Accompanying the President is City Historian Eusebio Leal Spengler, who described the adjacent Castillo de la Real Fuerza, where the colonial governor lived.

Airbnb gets Treasury OK to expand Cuba listings
The Treasury Department’s approval, announced Sunday, comes as President Obama embarks on an historic three-day trip to the island nation. It also follows Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ announcement Saturday that it has signed three hotel deals in Cuba, making it the first U.S. hotel company to seal a deal to run hotels in Cuba since 1959 revolution.

Potential for scientific exchange between Cuba and the United States highlighted in Havana
The Director of the Center of Molecular Immunology in Cuba, Dr, Agustín Lage, noted the potential for scientific exchange between Cuba and the United States, while announcing further steps to strengthen links in this sector.
Dr. Lage announced during a press conference this Sunday morning in Havana, that Cuban biotechnology products could begin to be used by U.S. patients, as more than 30 Cuban patents have been approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
