US plans to restrict access to TikTok and WeChat apps on Sunday

According to the decree signed by the White House, WeChat will no longer be accessible in the United States as of this Sunday . TikTok will not be able to update its app, but the service will continue to be available to US users until November 12 .

A term that should allow ByteDance to sell the American activities of TikTok to a North American company , the only solution contemplated by Washington to not simply ban the application of minivideos.

According to the US administration, these new measures have been decided to protect national security, but they aggravated opposition with Beijing on digital technology, while Donald Trump has made his combative attitude towards China one of his campaign axes, less than 50 days of the US presidential election.
