Djibouti Strengthens Sports Cooperation with Cuba

cuba-djiboutiDjibouti is interested in strengthening sports cooperation with Cuba, stated today the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports of this African nation, Hassan Mohamed Kamil.

“We are interested in training our professionals, particularly in sports medicine, dieticians and physiotherapists, while in the disciplines we need advice on group sports and athletics,” said Mohamed Kamil on his arrival in Cuba.

According to the official, the main objective of his visit to Cuba is to renew the sports collaboration agreement, signed in 2007.

So far, 10 young Djiboutians have graduated from the island as graduates in Physical Culture and six Cuban specialists are currently working in that African nation, including track and field trainers, aerobic gymnastics, handball, volleyball, and basketball, as well as a physiotherapist.

During his stay on the island, to end next Thursday, the visitor will sign a cooperation agreement with the president of the National Institute of Sports, Antonio Becali. It will allow the continuity of relations of friendship and work between both countries, which have been rated as excellent.
