Maduro in Cuba to celebrate 12 years of ALBA

bruno y maduroVenezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro arrived to Cuba today, December 14, to celebrate 12 years of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), reported Cuban new channels.

In a Twitter post the Latin American leader stated: “Arriving to Cuba 22 years after the encounter between Fidel and Chávez, to celebrate 12 years of ALBA and reaffirm the path of unity and liberation.”

Maduro arrived in Havana this morning and was received at capital’s José Martí International Airport by Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, according to Cuban TV reports.

Officially Founded on December 14, 2004, ALBA is a Latin American integration project conceived by Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, as an alternative to the Free Trade Area of the Americas, promoted by the United States.
