Raúl sends letter of condolences to President of Kazakhstan

raul-castroThe President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, sent a message of condolences to President of Kazakhstan, Nursultán Nazarbáev, following the terrorist attacks in the city of Aktobe, which left four civilians and three soldiers dead, according to a diplomatic source cited by Prensa Latina.

In addition to conveying heartfelt condolences to the government of Kazakhstan and families of the victims, Raúl Castro also reiterated Cuba’s firm rejection and condemnation of all forms and manifestations of terrorism, according to Cuban Ambassador to Kazakhstan Carlos Valdés, in Astana.

Meanwhile, Valdés visited Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry to sign the book of condolences and express the solidarity of the Cuban people and government at this sad, painful time.
On June 5, armed groups attacked a military unit and two gun stores in the city of Aktobe, leaving seven dead and more than 30 injured.
