Cuba and Switzerland sign agreement on the restructuring of bilateral debt

Cuba y SuizaRicardo Cabrisas Ruiz, a vice president of the Council of Ministers, received the Hon. Ms. Anne-Pascale Krauer Müller, ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Cuba, this Wednesday, May 18.

The meeting’s main objective was the signing of a Debt Restructuring Agreement between the government of the Republic of Cuba and the government of the Swiss Confederation, as part of the process of implementation of the Multilateral Agreement signed by the Paris Club Ad-Hoc Group of creditor nations and Cuba.

Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas and Ambassador Krauer Müller also exchanged views on the positive state of relations between the two countries and noted that this agreement was an important step for the development of economic, commercial and financial ties between Cuba and Switzerland.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Patrick Duport, Swiss consul to Cuba. Also representing Cuba were Isaac Hernández, director of External Debt of the Central Bank of Cuba, Aleida González, vice president of the National Bank of Cuba, Elio Rodríguez, director of Europe and Canada and Manuel Pírez, director of International Law, both of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
