Francis Ford Coppola in Cuba

CoppolaThe legendary film director, producer and scriptwriter, Francis Ford Coppola, arrived in Cuba on Monday, to meet and exchange with students and professors of the International School of Film and Television (EICTV), in San Antonio de los Baños, where today, he held a conference and later toured the facility.

During his stay which will extend through July 19, the director of films such as The Godfather (1972, 1974 and 1990), Apocalypse Now (1979) and Dracula (1992), will view the work of EICTV students, and offer his thoughts, and hold a meeting with Roberto Smith, President of ICAIC.

Winner of five Academy Awards and other important distinctions, Francis Ford Coppola is a mandatory reference within the history of cinema and last May, received the 2015 Princess of Asturias for the Arts Award.
