On the afternoon May 28, the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, received Dr. Miguel Ángel Mancera Espinosa, Head of Government of the Federal District of Mexico, who is making an official visit to the country.
During the cordial meeting, both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the state of the historic ties of friendship between Cuba and Mexico, and the development of collaborative projects with the Federal District. They also discussed a number of important regional and international issues.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Ingeniero Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano, coordinator of International Affairs for the Government of the Federal District; the honorable Juan José Bremer de Martino, Mexican ambassador in Cuba; and Lázaro Cárdenas Batel, former governor of Michoacán State. Participating on the Cuban side were, Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations, Rogelio Sierra Díaz and MINREX Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean, Manuel Aguilera de la Paz.
