International Conference on the “New Scenarios of Political Communication in the Digital Sphere – 2015”

en_el_slider-03The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba calls on International Conference on the “New Scenarios of Political Communication in the Digital Sphere – 2015” that will be held in the framework of the Tenth Anniversary of the World Summit on Information Society.

Preceded by the experiences and recommendations arising from the First and Second “International Workshop on Social Networks and Alternative Media” held in Havana in 2011 and 2013, this International Conference plans to debate on the development of the information and communication technologies (ICT) and their impact on international relationships. It seeks to coordinate positions and make recommendations on cardinal global and regional issues such as technological and cultural sovereignty of nations, Internet governance, among others.

Commissions of experts will exchange through debates and presentations that will later enrich the development of the official segment.

The commissions will deal with the following general issues:

· The evolution of the ICTs, their political use and their impact on international relationships. Recent developments in the international media scenario.

· Cybersecurity, subversion and electronic espionage.

· Internet governance

The event will take place in the Havana International Conference Center, in Havana, on June 5-7, 2015.
