Tenth ALBA Political Council Starts in Venezuela

Caracas, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) The Tenth Polítical Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America (ALBA) is in session in this capital today in the presence of Foreign ministries and representatives of member countries of the bloc.

The Antonio Jose de Sucre Yellow House, in downtown Caracas, is the venue for this important meeting presided over by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua.

Participants include Foreign Ministers Bruno Rodriguez (Cuba), David Choquehuanca (Bolivia), Ricardo Patino (Ecuador) and Douglas Slater (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines).

Also present are Head of Foreign Relations of the Office of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbudas, Anthony Liverpool; minister of Information of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Ambrose Vincent George, and Minister of Development, Industry and trade of Nicaragua, Orlando Solorzano.

The objective of the Political Council of ALBA is advising the Presidential Council in strategic political issues and presenting proposals on international policy issues.

Founded in 2004, ALBA groups Venezuela, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, and Antigua and Barbuda.
