Cuban Parliament to Debate Measures of Popular Interest

Havana, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuban legislators will debate measures of popular interest from July 20 to 22, in many cases related to the implementation of the Economic and Social Policy Guideline of the Draft Party Program, approved by the 6th Congress of the PCC.

The analysis, prior to the 9th Ordinary Period of Sessions to begin Monday, July 23, is the result of the work carried out by hundreds of legislators, and reflects many opinions collected in visits to work places, neighborhood people’s councils, and neighborhood meetings of delegates.

Legislators’ meetings with voters provided a comprehensive view of the most urgent problems facing the nation, Granma newspaper reported.

The legislators will also close the 2011 economic plan and budget, and examine the course of the 2012 budget, according to Parliament sources.
