Cuban Party Meeting Debates End

The First Conference of Cuba’s Communist Party is scheduled to end today two days of debates focused on intensifying the organization’s work and its role in updating the country’s economic model.

More than 800 delegates are discussing the operation, methods and working style of the party, the political and ideological work, the cadres’ training and the party links with the Young Communist League (UJC) and other grassroots organizations. As part of the closing session, the final reports drafter by the different committees, as well as the resolution on the party’s working plan will be presented and subject to vote.

During the first day of the Conference, running at the Convention Center, participants committed themselves to implement the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy approved in the 6th Congress of the PCC held in April, 2011 and to strengthen national unity around the party and the Revolution, as well as permanent links with the people.
