The El Paso Diary is written by José Pertierra--an attorney who represents the government of Venezuela in its request for the extradition of Luis Posada Carriles. Pertierra´s journals describe the testimony, evidence, legal skirmishes, quirks and follies of this very historic trial that features for the first time the close collaboration of the United States government with Cuban authorities to prosecute an ex CIA agent who is one of the masterminds of the fifty-year old dirty war against Cuba.

More efficient rice production
With the installation of a modern drying plant, capable of processing 37 tons of rice per day, the province of Pinar del Río has put an end to the need to transport grain harvested across four western municipalities a distance of over 150 kilometers, to the Los Palacios Agro-industrial Grain Enterprise (EAIG), at the other extreme of the province.

More than 35,000 Hondurans deported from the U.S. this year
More than 35,000 undocumented Honduran immigrants have been deported from the United States so far this year, both by land and air, as revealed on July 25 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central American country. According to the ministry, citing figures from the Honduras Consular and Migration Observatory, in 2015, 75,785 Hondurans were deported from U.S .territory, as reported by the daily Proceso Digital.

Cuba and Saudi Arabia sign important economic agreement
The first involves a Saudi loan to finance a project in the city of Cárdenas to rehabilitate the water supply and treatment system. The Development Fund will provide a long term advance of 120 million Saudi riyals (29.1 million USD) annually to construct a new main conduit and distribution networks to allow the distribution of potable water throughout the city located in the province of Matanzas.

Principal celebration of National Rebellion Day tomorrow, in Sancti Spíritus
Tomorrow, July 26, at 7:00am, in the city’s Serafín Sánchez Valdivia Plaza de la Revolución, the principal national commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Garrisons will take place. The central remarks in honor of National Rebellion Day will be made by Second Party Secretary and Vice President of the Councils of State and Minister José Ramón Machado Ventura.
